She lost 15-12 to Jessica Lewis-Turner in the round of = 16. Junior Jack Harkey led the men with his 35th place in Men's Cadet Epee. = He remains on the point board from his previous top 32, but did not = improve his national placement which stands at 62. Truly Jack's high = point, however, was not all his wins, but his last loss against 15th = ranked Alex Caven. Alex is a finely trained fencer from New York. = Their bout went to 14-14 with Alex taking the last touch in the Junior = Men's Foil event. =20 Both Erin Falbaum (40th in Cadet Women's Epee) and Lowery Rogers (43rd = in Jr. Women's Sabre) did very well coming just short of points, = followed closely by Dorothy Hubbard (Junior Women's Epee) at 44th. Mississipians Ken Williams, Kevin Bartley and Alan Kuhnle made their = debuts and held up pretty well to the stiff competition. Although we = didn't get a final quote on all of them, I think they eventually enjoyed = that level of experience. All of our fencers did well, even those whose "numbers" don't look so = great. Nineteen Ark-La-Miss Junior = Olympians (making=20 41 entries to events) experienced a range of emotions from=20 intense challenge to giddy thrills in Columbus, Ohio, at the 2002 = Junior=20 Olympic Fencing Championship.
